About the Event
Autumn is the beginning of the Yin cycle in the year, where daylight lasts less than 12 hours and our relationship with darkness becomes more prevalent. It’s a time of harvest, gathering, and storage for the Winter ahead where we will be continually required to draw from our own inner resources.
According to Chinese medicine, the season of Autumn is associate with the Metal element, which governs organization, discipline, communication, the mind, and protecting boundaries.
Autumn is also a time to begin to turn inward. As the leaves fall it is a reminder to us to let go. It can be difficult for some to leave behind the long, warm, Summer days, but change is inevitable. Some of us embrace the change and look forward to this time of the year. Either way, it is beneficial to begin to align ourselves with this change of energy, and that is exactly what we will be doing in this class.
Yin Yoga, meditation, and contemplation will be offered as a support for the change of seasons. We will journey inward in order to cultivate our inner resources to embrace change and learn about what it really means to let go.
"Delicious Autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I'd fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns." George Eliot
